That sucks! It was always fun to see another guy named Glenn driving a primered bug around town. You going to replace it with another?

Note to self: check clamps, fuel hoses, and fire extinguisher.

.they have small fire extinguishers at advance auto. i think they cost $17. I always keep one in my bug. ITs amazing how many people don't believe me when i tell them to take the friggin fuel filter out from between the fuel pump, and carb, to prevent just this. Its also a VERY GOOD idea to do this:



Just some safety wire, tied to keep the fuel line from popping off.

i did this on every stock carb i've had. but i always tied the safety wire the other direction then in the pic. that way any force on the wire would want to tighten the bolt, instead of loosen it, but realistically, i don't think it would be an issue. its just my paranoia bom , but u can never be too carefull, and it sure wouldn't hurt.
