1999 VW Cabrio

Post by aircooledaddicts on Mon Sep 03, 2012 10:08 pm

Just picked up a Cabrio today. It seems to be is really good shape and I got it from a mechanic for Jim Ellis. Looking forward to getting this one sitting right and putting my own touch to it.

Couldn't stand looking at it in 4x4 mode any more so I dropped her down. I also redid all the lower black trim and blacked out the grill and VW emblems.

Then yesterday I smoked the turn signals and side markers

I also copied Rich and Digger Cool and made a new shift boot

Picked up this car from Gary on Monday. Can't get Ashley out of it....hahaha.....she had been bugging me about getting a cabrio and the right deal came along. Anyways got coil overs on order along with a radio. I am exploring my options on wheels....not sure what I am going to do....

***Edit***

Just an updated picture of how it looked/looks when we got it from Gary.

Well I got rid of the blue wheels today. Decided to throw a little aircooled flavor at it. I just did a quick job that ended up not being so quick. I didn't have anything to get the tire shine off the rims so I had some bleed through but they shouldnt stay on the car for too long so I am not worried. Hopefully I will be getting my adapters in the near future so I can make a wheel change....

I haven't done much to this car at all. Ashley is driving it everyday though. I did pull the tint off the parking lights and tightened up the top latches. I also picked up some wheels for it but I am not sure I will use them. I like the look that it has now.....
