Wire brush in the drill, but many times I will use the tumbler and finish them with the wire brush.

You gotta use the lazy mans rust and paint remover, just wire it up and let it go. It works great. If you build a big enough box you could put the whole front axle assembly in it.

I thought the lazy man's way was to have your kid do it. Laughing I'll try your way next. I still have the pedal cluster to do. (as well as other parts)

It has been quite a while since I updated this thread. The pan is now ready to be reassembled with the new components for the brakes, shifter bushings, and steering coupler. The pans had the rust soda blasted off, then they were primed, seam sealed and painted. Yes, I had already done this....on the top; this was the bottom of the pan's turn. Here are a few photos of the progress.

I wish. I'm not that fast, plus I still have to finish the Squareback.

Wow, it has been a long time since I last updated this thread; mostly because I haven't done much to the car. With much help from Clyde and Wilson this weekend the front beam is finished. (Shocks, brakes, sway bar, spindles.) Shift rod is back in with new coupler and bushing. Shifter installed. E-brake handle installed and cables adjusted. New heat cables, new accelerator cable, CV boot replaced as well as rear bearings on the driver's side and new brakes in the back too.

I can see the light at the end of reassembly tunnel. Very Happy

Well, 11 months late, the Ghia is finally painted and back at my house.
It looks good. (yes, I'll post pictures soon)

I'll try to use this thread to stay motivated to finish assembly in a reasonable amount of time.

To say I am moving slowly on this project would be an understatement! This Saturday the body is going back on the pan. I'll try to post updated pictures soon. I may need to drop it off at Bryce's house, he gets the job done. Very Happy

I don't know about that.....I do get work done but my problem is I can't stay focused on one thing long enough to get it completely finished. Big step forward getting the body back on!
