Thanks! It's been an adventure. I'm probably 95% done, just need to wire up the engine, bleed and adjust the brakes, and tweak a few things here and there. The engine is a donated 1600 D.P. , not the original (2ltr?) F.I., so there are some extra wires hanging around the engine compartment that I'd like to clean up and yank out. That's beyond my expertise so I'm trying to get somebody to come by, hook up what's needed and figure out what's not. And - It's about an inch too tall to get it out of my shop without taking the cherry off the roof , which means pulling the headliner out again, or flattening my tires.

I think I remember a guy who built an airplane in his basement...

Been lurking.

This thread screamed at me "JOIN AND POST!"

Man you just gotta admire the creativity here! I wish I was closer to Augusta, I would love to come wire that up for ya! I'm sure someone will help you.

Flatten the tires, roll out of garage and TAKE MORE PICTURES!

That thing is neat! Great job!

Hey Guytonbug. I know a Tony Arnold in Grovetown with a sweet green Westy. Nice guy. Would that be him?

And I had to put the fire truck on hold for the summer. Now that cooler weather is here, I'm ready to get back on it.

Thanks QBall. Every time I think I have the funds to finish it, something comes along. Now I have the funds. (Actually, someone else is paying) I just have to trailer it a couple of blocks to a VW guy who's going to wire up whatever's left to be wired, do the brakes, and make sure everything else is working right, buttoned up and adjusted. I thought I was going to get it to him last Monday but I didn't have any help to load it. I should have help this weekend to load it on the trailer and get it over to him. Then maybe in a week or two I can post some pictures on here of me DRIVING IT!
