No drop spindles...I opted for the AC Industries wide five disc brakes on all fours
These zero offset front brakes do not adapt directly to drop spindles
Back end has been lowered one outer spline

Your car looks great. Did you find that the disc kit really was zero offset. I've heard some people say it was, and others say it still widened the track some. I really like the stance of your car and the idea off keeping 165's all the way around. Where do you get rubbing(headlight, outer fender, both?) One other question. What does "blown out bogies" mean?

I can tell by personal experience on the 66 the 165 rub the buckets at stock height or near stock height with a 4 1/4" beam.

Passenger side seems to hit first on the bucket and fender lip on turns but only if I have a passenger to weigh that side down or I bottom out on something. It does not hit under typical driving conditions.

I really do not know if they are truly zero offset since they were put on the same time the beam was narrowed, but they do have a nice little tuck to them...nothing too extreme.

Blown out bogies - worn OEM shocks. I had new lowered gas shocks on the front, but the ride was way too stiff for my liking. I read in one of the Hot VW magazines that some folks think that worn oil-filled shocks give a better ride on lowered cars. I thought that I would try it since I needed new rear shocks anyway. I bought new gabriels for the back (nice cheap $15 shocks from Autozone) and put the old one on the front. I have a much nicer ride now. It is not as stiff, but I am really just bouncing off the torsion bars with just a little damping. The ride is actually pretty good on asphalt, but concrete interstate with expansion joints is like riding hobby horse bounce

Here's another shot of my car. The colors are not quite a vibrant from my point and shoot as they are from Scott's nice SLR. How do I set up an avatar on this site?

Thanks for the info Bryce and Sapp. I plan on doing the narrowed, dropped, and disc setup in the future, and this info will help. Thanks!

For the avatar: You will need to resize the pic. The pic can't be bigger than 150X200 pixels and can't be larger than 64kb is size. Once you have it sized right, go to the profile tab, then click on avatar, and then browse for the photo on your computer. If you need help resizing it, let me know.
