To rollbar or not to rollbar--- that is the question!

Post by MellowMidget on Fri Jun 18, 2010 7:48 pm

My 71 S/B has a bolted in roll bar inside of it.

The motor is a stock 1600 DP minus a C35 Scat camshaft.
It might be upgraded to a dual carb setup with an SVDA dizzy in the future. But that will be it. Its not going to be a beast... ever.

The car sits on the ground with no intentions of raising it up much as can be seen here:

The paint job will most likely end up being Dynasty Green which is a 65-66 Ford color...:

The interior will be stock salt/pepper or an oatmeal appearance.

Right now... the rollbar fits the car with its stripped down look. All it has/had is a set of 240sx seats and ALOT of chrome.

But if I were to paint the roll bar body color with some stainless hardware-- do you think it would still fit the car? After its make-over that is...

well, thats entirely up to you. If the look doesn't fit, then yank it out and sell it to someone with a baja (like me Wink , Laughing ) . If your going for stock resto, then it might look kinda wierd, but if your going for a custom look, then i'm sure you can prolly incorperate it, and MAKE it look good. just depends what your going for.

If its just one of those bolt together cages, then they really don't provide too much additional protection, unless you add your own custom bracing, and gusseting.
