Re: Hello from Texas
Thanks to all for the big welcome, I would like to resettle out that way but no chance of getting the wife to leave TX.
billieco, Cool. How long ago did you head out East?
69panel, Is your son into aircoolers also? If so we could always use another member. (As long as it's not considered cheating on you guys.
)
56HAVOC, when you come to TX do you fly or drive? If you drive you pass right by me.

Re: Hello from Texas
Welcome aboard! Used to live in Tx as well, Amarillo quite a few years back. Been out your way a good bit in the past few years, my best friend moved from NC to Austin then to VT. Drove thru your area on the way out and back when we helped him move. Then flew into Dallas and drove down for a week. Have an ex-girlfriend that lived in Grand Prarrie, fun times back then!!!
Your only about 800 miles away so cruise on over for a get together one weekend!!!
And on your way pick me up a dozen Whataburgers!!!!!!! MMMMMmmmmm.... My 2 fav things in Tx were whataburgers and decent brisket...

No, my son isn't into air cooled vw's...Lexus is his choice. I think it comes from him working for me when I had a shop. That stint of working hard and getting dirty for a living drove him back to college. Now he makes big bucks in a suit and tie.

Ever go into whataburger and order a 4x4? That is so funny they have a secret menu for the locals only. 4x4, onion rings, and a large vannila shake...ohhh, hurting for days!!
cannot remember the place in Austin, maybe Ruby's, Ruth's, something simple like that, but if you ever roll down that way the brisket is amazing. Guess anywhere I have had it in TX is good, way better than anyplace outside of there. There is a place near me called Cherokee Cattle Company that imports all their meats and mesquite from TX. Great place and the best I have found outside of Tx, but they need a few more years on the practice of smoking.... Hmm, thinking of a nice brisket for dinner now!!!

Re: Hello from Texas
Welcome aboard! My son loves Texas. He's 4 and that's where Sandy Cheeks is from. You might need to be a parent to understand that one.
